The historically significant venues of the Regional Exhibition are the Fortress of Burghausen an der Salzach, the former Augustine Canon Monastery Ranshofen and the Mattighofen Palace.

The Upper Austrian Regional Exhibition 2012 invites you to take a journey through the exciting history of these two countries and the Habsburg and Wittelsbach dynasties. A journey that begins in the early Middle Ages, when the region was still a Bavarian settlement area, and ends in the present.

The cross-border Regional Exhibition will also tell you what Bavaria and Austria have in common and what separates them. It provides information on cultural highlights, the lives of both the nobility and everyday people, times of profound devoutness, the opulent lifestyle of Baroque times, but also on dismal times with war, destruction and epidemics.

Valuable original pieces, exciting shows and a special way to convey the information to children make the Regional Exhibition from 27 April to 4 November 2012 an experience for young and old alike and for the whole family.
