The 434 kilometers long journey begins in the picturesque town of Passau, located in Germany just across the Austrian border. The destination of the path is Hungary’s capital Budapest. The Danube Cycle Path is the most favored cycle path in Europe!

In Austria it runs through steep-sided valleys and wide riverside woods visiting historic towns such as Grein and cities such as Passau, Linz and of course Vienna. “Schlögener Schlinge” , “Strudengau”, “Nibelungengau” or “Wachau” – any region along the majestic river shows a special atmosphere. Enjoy cycling along the banks of the Danube through a fantastic landscape with woods, meadows and fields.

And as the trail is almost completely flat, this tour is especially recommended for families and for beginners.
