Indulge in the International Schubert Festival where you will lose yourself in some of the finest music in the world, whilst exploring the lovely Romantic Town of Steyr.

Franz Schubert had close ties to the Romantic Town of Steyr. He deeply appreciated the beauties of the town, where he composed his world famous Trout Quintet. Commissioned by his Steyr-based patron Sylvester Baumgartner, the Trout Quintet was first performed in Baumgartner’s home in Steyr in 1819. That’s why Steyr has created this annual Festival a few years ago.

This year’s 2010 Schubert Festival will be held from April 8 to April 30, 2010. Internationally acclaimed artists will perform concerts in Steyr and take music lovers on an interesting journey through the music world of Franz Schubert and his time.
