Lovingly decorated stalls are positioned along the streets, selling Christmas decorations and culinary delights, such as huge quantities of Christmas cookies, candy and stacks of a holiday gingerbread called “Lebkuchen”.
Hallstatt occupies a dramatic position on the western shores of Hallstättersee Lake, jutting out into the lake at the base of a precipitous cliff and towered by the ragged stone wall of the Dachstein Mountain.
